New TV anime The Ghost In The Shell begins airing! Original Soundtrack has also been announced!

The Ghost in the Shell series has a passionate fanbase around the world and continues to influence creators across borders, eras, and generations. Today, the latest installment of the TV anime series, The Ghost In The Shell, began airing in Japan and streaming globally. The release of the new series’ original soundtrack was also announced.

The album combines the talents of Taisei Iwasaki, Ryo Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka. The music is by Taisei Iwasaki who serves as the musical director for this work. Iwasaki won the academy award for best music for Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime and also worked on the music for the movie Tokyo Taxi. Ryo Konishi directed the opening ceremony for the 2025 World Expo and produced for numerous TV dramas and artists including Chara+Yuki, Mrs. Green Apple, and Tomoo. Yuki Kanesaka is a music producer based primarily in the U.S. who produced the music for TV anime Dr. Stone.
The soundtrack album will include two discs and will be released on CD and analog formats.
First-press editions of the CD will come in a special case.
The album jacket will feature a brand-new illustration by tarou2 from Science Saru.

Award-winning musician who’s known for his musical work on many films such as Ryuu to Sobakasu Hime, Hateshinaki Scarlet, Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo, First Kiss, Netflix films such as First Love Hatsukoi, The Naked Director, Bullet Train Explosion, TV anime Kekkai Sensen, Spriggan, Marriage Toxin, and more. In addition, he produced the melody that plays on the Tokaido bullet train “Ai ni Ikou” and the selected piece for the high school division of the 86th NHK National Music Competition “Boku ga Boku wo Miteiru.”
Moteki received the “Excellent Work Award” at the 35th Japan Academy Awards.
Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime won the “Award for Best Music” at the 45th Japan Academy Awards.
Tokyo Taxi received the “Excellent Work Award” at the 49th Japan Academy Awards.
Ryuu to Sobakasu Hime won the 36th Japan Golden Disc Award for “Best Soundtrack of the Year”.

Born July 25, 1988 in Tokyo.
Musical composer, arranger, and performer on saxophone, flute, clarinet, synthesizer, and vocoder.
He received the Maeda Memorial Scholarship for Study Abroad at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and moved to the U.S. after graduation and graduated at the top of his class from Berklee College of Music. He studied the performance techniques of Bob Zung, Tomonao Hara, George Garzone, and Frank Tiberi and studied composition and arrangement by Ayn and Osamu Matsumoto. Currently, he is director of the performance group Zoo-Min-Sha, leader of the band CRCK/LCKS, and co-director with Miho Hasami of the big band project Com⇄Positions.
His signature style is characterized by a borderless and alternative approach, combined with a balance that transcends genres. He is widely recognized for his creativity that draws on a wide range of styles including pop, jazz, classical, and funk.
He served as the musical director for the opening ceremony of the 2025 Osaka World Expo, and has produced music for numerous theatre productions, TV productions, drama productions, and artists including Chara+YUKI, Ikimonogakari, Mrs. GREEN APPLE, TOMOO, King & Prince and more. His style as a performer involves mastering and playing multiple instruments, making him a valuable multi-instrumentalist in multiple settings including Chara and Millenium Parade led by Daiki Tsuneta. He’s participated in numerous festivals both domestically and internationally, including NHK’s “Kohaku Uta Gassen,” Fuji Rock Festival, and Summer Sonic.
Yuki Kanesaka
A music creator and composer based in Boston, creating music daily across the U.S. and Europe. In recent years, he’s been working as an assistant professor at Berklee College of Music, discovering music and developing technology, while also developing products for companies like
Sony and AlphaThetha/Pioneer. He enjoys working and can play around 74 instruments.
