Japanese rock band kein has released their highly anticipated 2nd EP, delusional inflammation,

today, now available on all major music streaming services.

Formed in Nagoya in 1997, kein quickly rose to the height of popularity with their distinctive sound and emotional intensity. The five-member band—Maco (vocals), Reo (guitar), aie (guitar), Yuki (bass), and Sally (drums)—sadly disbanded in 2000 at the peak of their success. However, they made a much-celebrated comeback in 2022, reigniting the passion of fans old and new.

Their latest release, delusional inflammation, marks their first new EP in approximately seven months since their major debut PARADOXON DOLORIS last year. The EP features five tracks based on the concept of “inflammation caused by delusion”, as suggested by its evocative title.

Formed in Nagoya in 1997 by Mako, Reo, and Yuki, kein quickly rose to national prominence in Japan’s visual kei scene. With their intense sound and striking presence, they became one of the most talked-about bands of the era. However, at the peak of their popularity, the band abruptly disbanded after a final performance in August 2000, leaving fans stunned.

For years, fans held onto hope for a reunion—and in May 2022, that hope became reality. kein announced their reunion, and anticipation reached a fever pitch. Their comeback shows in Nagoya and Tokyo sold out immediately. In January 2023, the band embarked on their first post-reunion tour, drawing huge crowds to large-scale venues.

In August 2023, 26 years after their formation, kein released their long-awaited first full- length indie album, Hakai to Souzou (meaning Destruction and Imagination). This was followed by their major label debut in November 2024—a significant milestone in the band’s storied career.

And now, on July 9, 2025, kein has released their eagerly awaited 2nd major EP, delusional inflammation, marking yet another powerful step in their evolution.
