Keiji, known as “Hiodoshi”, is one of the commanders of the Yamato Special Assault Unit, the Red Crow. Known as a master of the Kobudo one-sword style, he is also a specialist in Yabusame – the art of archery while on horseback – in addition to being a highly skilled pilot of the Winder lightweight Synchro exoArmor. His extensive expertise in various forms of combat has earned him the name Hiodoshi – the Red Devil Samurai.
During a high -stakes rescue mission called Operation Shadow Den, Keiji was tasked to surgically extract hostages from the terrorists. These terrorists who held Pacific Terminal Ltd. (PTL) officials captive planned to fill the room with gas and die alongside any intruders in an attempt to spread panic and cause the PTL to question the Yamato government’s reckless actions, further straining the government’s relationship with the organization. Keiji, assigned to this critical situation, had foreseen this, and managed to save the PTL officials from a heavily guarded area with just a 5-person squad, all without injury.
Among the rescued PTL officials, one member’s clan had a long-standing relationship with Keiji. This relationship, however, had drifted as Keiji’s clan fortunes declined. After the rescue mission, recognizing Keiji’s exceptional abilities, they believed that their family’s fate would change, and decided to support the heroic samurai.
