電影講述一名越野電單車手與高科技機械犬，在美軍及神秘軍火商的追捕下，建立出一段非凡人「狗」友情。這個非一般的科幻故事，與當年曾紅極一時的科幻喜劇經典電影《霹靂五號》 Short Circuit 的故事有著異曲同工之妙，吸引了曾創作出《蝙蝠俠—俠影之謎》 (Batman Begins) 、《蝙蝠俠—黑夜之神》 (The Dark Knight) 、《蝙蝠俠—夜神起義》 (The Dark Knight Rises) 等多部不朽名作的頂尖編劇大衛高耶目光，傾力幫助故事原創者奧利華戴利 (Oliver Daly) 全面提升製作資源，拍成這部兼具獨特性及娛樂性的作品；主角更請來紅遍美洲的樂壇小天后 Becky G ，以及美劇《殖民地》 Colony 上位新星亞歷士紐斯泰達 (Alex Neustaedter) 演出，聯手送上這部適合一家大細入場欣賞的科幻新作。

■ 故事大綱

越野電單車手米斯 (亞歷士紐斯泰達 飾) 失意比賽後，偶遇並救出受傷的「流浪犬」愛獸 AXL ── 一隻擁有先進人工智能、能配合及加載各式武器的機動戰犬！愛獸超凡進化，向一再救活自己的米斯展現出有如真實犬隻的忠誠，逐漸建立出深厚的友誼。但另一方面，發明愛獸的神秘軍火商原來已傾巢而出，誓要捕獵回這唯一的逃亡實驗體！為了令愛獸擺脫實驗摧殘，米斯找來足智多謀的暗戀對象莎拉 (Becky G 飾) 幫忙，攜手對抗來自美軍以及軍火商的高科技追兵！

In the vein of classic ‘80s family movies Short Circuit and Flight of the Navigator, AXL is a new adventure about a down-on-his luck teenage bike rider, Miles (Alex Neustaedter), who stumbles upon an advanced, robotic, military dog named AXL. Endowed with next-generation artificial intelligence but with the heart of a dog, AXL forms an emotional bond with Miles, much to the chagrin of the rogue military scientists who created AXL and would do anything to retrieve him. Knowing what is at stake if AXL gets captured, Miles teams up with his smart, resourceful crush, Sara (Becky G), to protect his new best friend on a timeless, epic adventure for the whole family.
