While it’s unknown if Alden Ehrenreich’s version of Han Solo will be able to make the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, shooting for the “Star Wars” spinoff started Monday, Feb. 20.
Walt Disney Co. announced Tuesday through its various social media accounts, that shooting for the movie set for release in May 2018 kicked off at London’s Pinewood Studios.
The photo seen at the at the top of this page of the main cast has been making the rounds on social media.
Ehrenreich will play a younger version of Harrison Ford’s scruffy-looking nerf herder, Donald Glover (also known as artist Childish Gambino) will play a younger version of Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian.
Also in the photo are Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke of “Game of Thrones” fame, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and co-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
The two directors, who collaborated on the wildly successful “The Lego Movie,” released a statement saying “we can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky.”
